I love what I do! It’s a privilege to work with different people every day. No two individuals or couples are the same – you have your own unique story, perspectives, and strengths. I want to understand your concerns, identify your goals, and find solutions that work for you. We focus on your agenda in therapy, not mine.
It’s also important to talk about the type of clients that experience the most success with me. They are focused on personal responsibility. They talk about their frustrations, but work to move beyond blaming their partner or others. They want to understand their situation, find solutions, and put them into practice. They may struggle with forgiveness and reconciliation, but they want to learn and put them into practice.
I believe everyone is capable of making the changes they seek. Using my education, professional experience, and objectivity, I help you identify your strengths and achieve your goals. As a therapist, I am like a consultant. I help you search for workable solutions, but you decide what to apply and what works for you. As a result, your success is more personal and permanent.
I have worked with individuals and couples for 23 years. I particularly enjoy helping clients with relationship conflict, affair recovery, communication, forgiveness, grief and loss, life transitions, and stress management. I use a collaborative, strength-based, solution-focused approach. I am an active participant in each meeting and work to make good use of our time. Many of my clients report increased satisfaction, productivity, and a greater sense of well-being as a result of our work together.
In addition to my formal training, I also provide Christian-based counseling for clients wanting to include Biblical principles as a significant part of therapy. Regardless of your faith, I am so thankful I get to witness the growth and resiliency of others for a living. I look forward to hearing from you!
