For the past 23 years, I have helped clients find solutions to their personal concerns. I have experience counseling with individuals and couples on issues like marital/couple conflict, forgiveness, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, parenting issues, and stress management. I use a collaborative, strength-based approach that focuses on your goals. Many of my clients report increased satisfaction, productivity, and a greater sense of well-being as a result of our work together.
In addition to my formal training, I also provide Christian-based counseling for clients looking to include their faith in therapy. Regardless of your faith, I am so thankful I get to witness the growth and resiliency of others for a living. I look forward to hearing from you!
What I Believe
I love what I do! I have the privilege of working with different people every day. While experiences can be similar, you have your own unique story, perspectives, and strengths. My job is to listen to your concerns, identify your goals, and work to help you achieve those goals. We focus on your agenda in therapy, not mine.
I believe we do not exist apart from other relationships, beliefs, values, and personal experiences. Therapy is most helpful when we look at ourselves in connection to these other relationships. The types of influences I consider in getting to know you include your biological, psychological, cultural, and spiritual influences and beliefs. Your situation is unique and a thorough assessment helps me offer assistance in a way that best fits your needs.
Sometimes we feel stuck, but I believe that everyone has the ability to make the changes they seek. I use my education, professional experience, and objectivity to help you apply your strengths and resolve your concerns. As a therapist, my role is like a consultant. I help you search for workable solutions, but you decide what you want to apply and what works for you. As a result, you own the changes and they are more likely to be permanent.
